Your Health Idaho Plans
Your Health Idaho is Idaho’s official health insurance marketplace.
It is where eligible Idaho residents can compare ACA health insurance plans, apply for premium tax credits, and enroll in Marketplace coverage.
Your Health Idaho plans may be used by individuals, families, self-employed workers, people between jobs, early retirees, and others who do not have affordable employer coverage.

What Is Your Health Idaho?
Your Health Idaho is Idaho’s state-based health insurance marketplace.
It allows eligible Idaho residents to compare ACA plans, apply for premium tax credits, review plan options, enroll during Open Enrollment, enroll during a qualifying Special Enrollment Period, update household and income information, and renew coverage.
Your Health Idaho is separate from the federal HealthCare.gov marketplace.
Who Uses Your Health Idaho?
Your Health Idaho may be used by individuals buying their own coverage, families, self-employed workers, contractors, realtors, consultants, people losing employer coverage, people losing Medicaid, early retirees before Medicare, people without affordable employer coverage, and people who qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
People with Medicare generally do not use Your Health Idaho for Medicare coverage.

How Your Health Idaho Enrollment Works
The general process is:
- Estimate household income.
- Enter household information.
- Check eligibility for premium tax credits.
- Compare available plans.
- Review doctors and prescriptions.
- Choose a plan.
- Complete enrollment.
- Pay the first premium if required by the carrier.
Coverage is not complete just because an application is started.
The carrier’s payment and enrollment steps still matter.
Open Enrollment Dates
Your Health Idaho currently says Open Enrollment runs from October 15 through December 15 each year.
During Open Enrollment, eligible Idaho residents can apply for a tax credit and enroll in a plan for the coming year.
Dates can change, so always verify the current year’s dates before publishing or updating this page.
Special Enrollment Periods
Outside Open Enrollment, a person usually needs a qualifying life event to enroll.
Qualifying life events may include losing qualifying health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, adoption, losing Medicaid or CHIP, and certain income or household changes.
Documentation and timing matter.

Premium Tax Credits
Premium tax credits may lower the monthly cost of a Your Health Idaho plan.
Eligibility may depend on household income, household size, tax filing status, county, access to employer coverage, other coverage eligibility, and federal rules.
Not everyone qualifies.
If income changes during the year, the tax credit may need to be updated.
Plan Metal Levels
Your Health Idaho plans are typically organized by metal levels.
Bronze plans usually have lower monthly premiums and higher out-of-pocket costs.
Silver plans are often a middle-ground option. Cost-sharing reductions may apply for eligible households.
Gold plans usually have higher monthly premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs.
Catastrophic plans are usually available only to certain people, such as some younger applicants or people with a hardship exemption.
The best metal level depends on medical use, prescriptions, doctors, and budget.
Doctors, Hospitals, and Networks
Networks are one of the most important parts of choosing a Your Health Idaho plan.
Check primary care doctors, specialists, pediatricians, hospitals, urgent care clinics, mental health providers, imaging centers, labs, and pharmacies.
In the Boise area, many people want to know whether a plan works with St. Luke’s, Saint Alphonsus, or their preferred doctors.
Network participation can change by carrier, plan, county, and year.
Prescription Drug Coverage
Before enrolling, check each medication.
Review whether the prescription is covered, tier level, copay or coinsurance, deductible rules, prior authorization, step therapy, quantity limits, preferred pharmacy rules, and mail-order options.
A plan with a lower premium may cost more overall if prescriptions are not covered well.
Your Health Idaho vs Off-Marketplace Plans
Some plans may be sold outside the Marketplace.
However, premium tax credits are generally tied to Marketplace enrollment.
If someone may qualify for a tax credit, Your Health Idaho should usually be reviewed carefully.
Off-Marketplace plans may still be useful in certain situations, but tax-credit eligibility and plan details should be compared.
Your Health Idaho and ICHRA Offers
An ICHRA offer can affect Marketplace savings.
Employees offered an Individual Coverage HRA may need to determine whether the ICHRA is considered affordable.
If the ICHRA is affordable, the employee may not qualify for Marketplace premium tax credits.
If it is not affordable and the employee does not accept it, Marketplace savings may be possible.
